DAVID BOREANAZ -
MTV SELECT TRANSCRIPT
MTV: Let's sit. First of all we’re going to have a look at
you in action. Just stay there, if that’s alright?
DB: Sounds good to me.
Clip is shown
MTV: Do you like watching yourself?
DB: Well, it’s kind of interesting, isn’t it? It’s
kind of bizarre, kind of real weird in a way.
MTV: But what are you doing across here in the UK now?
DB: I’m just promoting the show here. It’s starting to
launch on Channel 4 very shortly, so we came over and we’re
here for 4 or 5 days.
MTV: But you’re massive here already, you’ve got such
an enormous fan base.
DB: But you know what? The response is I love. Everyone here is
great. It’s been wonderful, very supportive. It’s been
a wonderful experience and you and I want to talk to the Queen.
How can I get in touch with the Queen?
MTV: I’ve got her mobile number.
DB: You know, I’m staying where the Dook lives, everyone’s
a Dook.
MTV: Everyone’s a what?
DB: Where’s the Dook?
MTV: The Dooke?
DB: You know the Dook.
MTV: The duke!
DB: Oh sorry! (laughs, puts on british accent)The duke, darling,
lovely, the duke of course, the duke with some tea please!
MTV: But it’s brilliant, we’ve had so many callers in
today who are, sort of, they’re all massive fans, screaming
down the phone for you and we’re like "What do you want
to ask him?" and like I don’t know They’re all so,
so nervous of being in your company. Do you get that a lot with
girls?
DB: No. It’s very, I mean it’s humbling, I mean you
have to realise what it is and that’s it and you look at it
and you know it’s a part of what you do and I’m
fortunate to be working and so, you know...
MTV: What about Angel? That, sort of, came off as a spoof (!) of,
of...
DB: It came off as a spin-off from Buffy and Joss Whedon who
created Buffy.
MTV: He was in last week, I spoke to him last week.
DB: He was in last week, I always hang out with him and, you know,
his idea was to take the character to Los Angeles and save souls
and demons and all this stuff and he succeeded in separating the
two shows and we just finished our first season and we’re
really pleased and I think we’ve separated it from Buffy and
but there’s still that extension and that family kind of
thing going on, so, yeah.
MTV: And I have to say, you’re the envy of our producer.
DB: Is that right.?
MTV: He’s a big Michelle fan.
DB: Really!
MTV: We showed a clip earlier where you must have snogged her
face off for about 3 minutes.
DB: 3 minutes?
MTV: Yeah.
DB: Were you timing?
MTV: Well, you know, yeah, sort of (laughs.)
DB: She was timing? Wow!
MTV: But, yeah, that must be quite a, sort of, good side to the
job?
DB: Sarah’s, you know, Sarah’s she’s really a lot
of fun to work with, you know. Working with her is there’s
like this simplicity thing that goes on. So it’s cool. Yeah,
it’s a lot of fun.
MTV: What about other stuff you’re working on?
DB: Yeah, well, you know I’ll get back to the States and we’ll
see what happens. There’s a couple of things there, kind of
on the brink there, so I never... I kind of live day by day and
see what happens. We’ve just finished the show so I’m
kind of winding down from that and we’ll see what happens,
yeah.
MTV: Did you ever, sort of, think that Buffy, and Angel as well,
would have such a success that it’s had?
DB: Never did, you know, I never went into it thinking or
realising "Hey this is going to explode and be huge,"
you know. I was just fortunate to be working, you know, and hey
it’s paid for me to come over and see great people like you
and England.
MTV: Shucks, shucks.
DB: the Queen.
MTV: Well, we’ll sort out Liz for you now.
DB: (Austin Powers accent) Are you horny baby, are you horny?
MTV: Baby!
DB: Baby, are you horny baby?
