Seth Green Interview

Who says that an actor can't be successful in
both films and television? Seth Green has made a name for himself
in the past few years as one of the up-and-coming television
actors who are making a name for themselves on both the big
screen and small screen.
Green stars on the popular WB series, "Buffy the Vampire
Slayer" playing Oz, the sometime werewolf love interest of
Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan). It was Green's portrayal of
Oz and the chemistry he and Hannigan shared on-screen that led
"Buffy" creator Joss Whedon to extend Green's initial
contract of three episodes and making him a series regular this
year. The chemistry shouldn't be surprising to fans who remember
Hannigan and Green together as prepubscent dates in 1988's "My
Stepmother Is An Alien."
Green tells UltimateTV that Oz is "less reactionary than I
am. He can play guitar really well, drives a cool van and the
chicks dig him."
Green, 24, was born in Philadelphia, Penn., and raised in
Overbrook Park, the youngest of two children. He began his career
in New York as a toddler, in TV commercials, including one with a
then four-year-old Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy on "Buffy
the Vampire Slayer") -- he was the senior at eight-years-old.
Green grew up surrounded by celebrities. At 10, he worked with
Jodie Foster on "The Hotel New Hampshire," with Woody
Allen on "Radio Days" (in which Green had the lead
roles) and with Bette Midler in "Big Business" when he
was 13.
Green went on to do many more films, including "Stephen King's
It," "Pump Up the Volume," and "White Man's
Burden" in the 1980's.
But it might have been the unmistakable "Ch-Ching" in a
Rally's fast food commercial gave Green the by-now well-deserved
recognition. When asked if he was still recognized for it, Green
told fans at a recent UltimateTV chat, "Yeah. It's rare, but
once in a while. It was pretty localized in the Midwest and it
got out of hand and silly. That's what happens with a catch
phrase. People get caught up with it."
The natural redheaded actor soon moved on to television, with
roles in "Good and Evil," "The Byrds of Paradise,"
(with superhot "Party of Five" star Jennifer Love
Hewitt) and "Temporarily Yours." He made memorble guest
appearances on such shows as "Mad About You," "The
Drew Carey Show," "The X-Files.", "The Wonder
Years", "Beverly Hills, 90210" "SeaQuest DSV"
and "Cybil"
Green not only is a television actor but a film actor as well
with roles in the feature films, "Airborne," "To
Gillian on Her 37th Birthday" co-starring Claire Danes
("My So-Called Life"), "Austin Powers:
International Man of Mystery" with Mike Myers ("Saturday
Night Live"), "Can't Hardly Wait" with Hewitt, and
Melissa Joan Hart ("Sabrina The Teenage Witch"). In an
ironic twist, he also was in the original movie "Buffy the
Vampire Slayer" with Kristy Swanson ('Early Edition")
and Luke Perry ("Beverly Hills, 90210"), but like Kevin
Costner in "The Big Chill," his role ended up on the
cutting-room floor. Green played a vampire. Evidence of his
presence is on the box to the video -- Green's clearly in the
pictured scene.
When not working on the set of "Buffy," Green likes to
read and see movies, his all time favorite thing to do besides
seeing live concerts. He also enjoys shooting pool and hanging
out with others.
Green can currently be seen in "Enemy of the State"
with Gene Hackman and Will Smith ("Fresh Prince of Bel Air"),
"Stonebrook" and the much-anticipated thriller "Idle
Hands". Green has recently been asked to reprise his role of
Scott Evil in the sequel to "Austin Powers: International
Man of Mystery" and is expected to start shooting the film
when production begins in the next few months.
Without a doubt, Green is on his way up to bigger and better
things and we, here at UltimateTV, can't wait to see what the
future holds for him.
