MTV: Yeah.
DB: There you go.
MTV: Oh, you’re going to stick around?
DB: Yes, I’m sticking around. Looks like Alice in Wonderland.
(points at hat)
MTV: Oh thanks!
DB: Alice!
MTV: Who are you then? Who are you then - the rabbit?
DB: Yeah.
MTV: What’s the guy with the big clock?
DB: I like the guy what time is it?
MTV: I have no idea.
DB: What time is it?
MTV: What time is it?
DB: I don’t know, you tell me.
MTV: Dunno, you’re the one wearing the watch. But, yeah,
thanks very much in and faxed in with some questions for you. So
you’re ready for their questions? for coming in. You’re
going to stick around and we’ve got some people who’ve
called.
DB: I’m ready.
MTV: They could, you know, they could get quite close to the bone.
DB: S’okay, I’m ready.
MTV: They come from the fans.
DB: Are you ready? Are you ready?
MTV: I’m ready. Are you ready?
DB: I’m ready. I’m gonna put a team together tomorrow.
Are you ready? Are you ready?
MTV: We’re ready. We’re ready. After the break we’ve
got more questions for David, so if you’ve got any to ask
him get phoning, get faxing and we’ll see you after these
words.
DB: Are you ready? Gotta be ready.
Commercial break
MTV: Plays drums too.
DB: I’m learning. My friend Glenn Quinn taught, is teaching
me. You know Glenn, he was on, he played Mark on Roseanne.
MTV: Oh, right.
DB: The actor, he’s a drummer.
MTV: He’s teaching you?
DB: God Bless Ireland, love Ireland, nice Dublin, it’s nice.
MTV: I’m going to Dublin this week.
DB: It’s the best city, great city, love Dublin.
Both: Love Dublin, love Dublin.
DB: Nice
MTV: Got a couple more questions that have come in for you. Now
you’ve got a lot of fans, what’s the weirdest sort of
fan thing you fan experience you’ve had? When someone came
up to you dressed as something weird or they’ve sent you
something weird or...
DB: (laughs) I was over at the Forbidden Planet Saturday and
millions showed and these people came up and they were like real
vampires. They had teeth and everything, no, actually...
MTV: I’ve got vampire teeth.
DB: No, these were a little bit longer. They were long. But that’s
what they do, you know, it’s no big deal. You get the
occasional strange letter. Some person wanted my socks. They
wrote in saying, "Can you send me your socks?"
MTV: Did you?
DB: No, because I had just got out of a tunnel. I was, like, knee
high in water.
MTV: Nice!
DB: So it was pretty rough, wouldn’t want those socks.
MTV: Now someone said, how would you explain Angel to someone who’s
never seen him?
DB: Well, you know, he’s a multi dimensional cat who is, you
know, who is on the curve of learning what humanity is really all
about. Sensitive to its needs but yet open to the vulnerability
of others.
MTV: But he’s, sort of, evil/good isn’t he?
DB: Evil/good. Yes evil, good, good, evil, bad or this or that.
MTV: What do you prefer playing evil or good?
DB: Both, actually. There’s something very good about both
of them. I enjoy it.
MTV: Right, the next one is what was the first time you were
asked for an autograph, when was the first time?
DB: First time I was asked for an autograph, ever?
MTV: Yeah.
DB: First time oh geez! don’t ,ummm...
MTV: Did you find it quite weird?
DB: Kind of bizarre, yeah.
MTV: Me?
DB: Me? I sign this? I don’t remember.
MTV: How do I sign my name?
DB: Sign here. Gotta crayon, marker?
MTV: But, listen, how long are you across for? How long are you
still here in the UK for?
DB: I don’t know. I haven’t figured that out yet. I may
stay longer, I may leave in the next hour. I haven’t figured
that out yet.
MTV: Ok, alright, well listen, thank you so much for coming in.
DB: Thanks for having me, it’s a pleasure.
MTV: It’s been a pleasure to meet you and please take your
hat with you.
DB: I will.
MTV: Please don’t leave it in the studio.
DB: Ah, no, it’s mine!
